Nielsen was just named No. 8 on the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption’s list of 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces. The list compares financial reimbursement and paid leave offered to employees who adopt, based on a survey of organizations across the U.S.
At Nielsen, we support every type of family. Full-time associates in the U.S. are eligible for up to $25,000 in reimbursement for adoption expenses under our Adoption Assistance program. The reimbursement covers adoption fees, court costs, attorney fees, travel, and other expenses. Nielsen also covers in-full two cycles of fertility treatment and offers a $25,000 surrogacy reimbursement for families that choose that path to parenthood.
Additionally, every new parent at Nielsen located in the U.S. is eligible for 12 weeks of parental leave during the first year with their child and expectant mothers receive an additional eight weeks of maternity leave. For adoptive parents, the 12 weeks can be taken when adding a new foster child to their family or when finalizing an adoption.
“We’re incredibly proud of the work we’re doing to support our Nielsen families,” said Maria Walsh, VP of Benefits, Nielsen. “And while it’s great to receive this recognition, we’re most honored to work with associates who choose to open their hearts and homes to children looking for loving families.”
The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption is a public nonprofit charity in the U.S. focused exclusively on foster care adoption.
