More than 350 Vietnamese Associates Make a Difference on Nielsen Global Impact Day

1 minute read | July 2018

More than 350 associates from Nielsen’s Vietnam office volunteered to participate in our seventh annual Nielsen Global Impact Day (NGID) to make uncommon impacts to their local communities. Our commitment and impact on this day grows stronger each year, and the activities and stories are growing ever-more inspiring.

“Being a responsible corporate citizen is woven into Nielsen’s DNA,” said Nguyen Huong Quynh, Managing Director of Nielsen Vietnam. “Nielsen Global Impact Day is the time when Nielsen associates around the world are encouraged to donate skills and time to help nonprofit organizations through in-kind giving or hands-on community projects. In Vietnam, each year we engage with nonprofit organizations such as the orphanage, nursing homes and poor families. It’s our commitment to deliver pro bono projects and skills-based volunteering support to those nonprofits. We sincerely express our thanks to the companies who together with us to make this event more impactful and memorable.”

In Vietnam, this year we focused on helping orphans and the elderly. Nielsen associates across six cities visited orphanages, nursing homes and centers for handicapped and disadvantaged adults. We spent our time preparing lunches, organizing various fun and meaningful activities and delivering donations valued at VND 82,000,000.

Furthermore, this was the first year that associates in Vietnam organized blood donation events at our HCMC and Hanoi offices. Notably, our associates raised their hands to contribute to the national blood bank, which inspired our partners and stakeholders to join us. In total, we collected approximately 40,000 cc units of blood that day.

But NGID is just one of the many ways Nielsen associates volunteer throughout the year. All associates have 24 work hours of dedicated volunteer time annually to follow their passions and make an impact in their own unique ways.
