DiversityInc-To-Announce-the-2015-Top-50-Companies-for-Diversity-at-Annual-Dinner-in-New-York-City-300x417

We are honored to announce that Nielsen has been added to DiversityInc.’s 2015 Top 50 list. With operations in 106 countries around the world, diversity means many different things for a company like Nielsen. Aside from statistics showing it to be good for business, diversity is a huge part of our culture, the way we approach our work with clients and our commitment to the community. This is our second consecutive year on the list, and at #42, we moved up eight positions from last year. Each company’s rank is based on objective analysis of 183 separate factors, based on data from a 300-question survey. The four equally weighted areas of measurement include Talent Pipeline, Equitable Talent Development, CEO/Leadership Commitment and Supplier Diversity.

Here’s what both our CEO and Chief Diversity Officer had to say.

Inclusion is a cornerstone of Nielsen’s success around the world. Measuring what consumers watch and buy wherever they are and however they choose to do it is our mission. But it is our diverse workforce that helps us to reach and understand all of those consumers effectively. Diversity and inclusion are crucial to our growth, strength, and ability to innovate. It is not simply a good practice; it is good business.

Diversity and inclusion are woven into the fabric of Nielsen. True innovation begins with diversity of thought, skill and experience. Our global footprint coupled with our commitment to a culture of inclusion at every level of the company has helped us build a workforce that mirrors the populations we serve.  We continue to see the business benefits of a culture built around inclusion, innovation and client-focus in our financial performance and Nielsen Associates Survey. Finding associates who think about our solutions differently helps us serve clients in new and effective ways, and that enables Nielsen to deliver increasing value to all our stakeholders and strengthens our company for growth.
